Purpose is overrated!
Ok ok, you got me. My headline was clickbait, but hear me out. We spend a lot of time talking about purpose, praying for it, searching for it, dreaming about it, waiting for a sign.
But you know what? What if purpose isn’t something you find after years of wandering or waiting? What if it’s something you walk into, by doing what’s in front of you with intention and excellence?
There are people with real needs around you. There are ideas whispering for attention. There’s work that needs doing, yes, it’s not always glamorous, it may not be “big,” but necessary. And yet many of us ignore these things while waiting to “discover purpose.” We sit still, hoping for a revelation that might only come mid-movement.
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…” – Ecclesiastes 9:10
For me, that verse above has become more than a reminder. It’s a strategy.
If there’s something in front of you today, something worth doing, maybe that’s where your purpose lives, at least for now.
Do it well. Show up. Finish things. Serve someone. Start small. Do it again tomorrow.
Purpose isn’t always a lightning strike. Sometimes it’s just faithfulness in motion.
